Tailmates is working to radically extend canine lifespan. Opt in, and once the research dataset opens, the walks you log join it, de-identified. Only the distance, duration, pace, active minutes and dates. Never your route, and never where you’ve been.

It’s off unless you turn it on, and Tailmates works exactly the same either way. Changed your mind? In Settings, Pause contribution keeps your choices and stops new contribution. Withdraw turns everything off, no reason needed. We publish what we learn.

Common questions

How do live walks work?

Start a walk and share it. Friends at the park walk beside you, and friends anywhere else join from their own streets. You see each other's pace, cheer and chat as you go. A shared walk shows a city, never a route.

What is Tailmates Town?

A town you build with your dog, now in beta. Walks of 3 minutes and 250 meters or more earn Coins, up to 240 a day, and Coins build Tailmates Town. It's free, and Coins come only from walking.

How does research consent work?

Research is off unless you turn it on, in Settings under Privacy. Opt in, and the walks you log join the research dataset once it opens, de-identified. Only distance, duration, pace, active minutes and dates. Never your route, and never where you've been. Tailmates works the same either way. To stop, choose Pause contribution, which keeps your choices, or Withdraw, which turns everything off.

Is it free?

Tailmates is free on iPhone and Android, and the free app is complete. Tailmates+ and Silver go further, like deeper longevity insight between vet visits.
