Community rules
Last updated October 9, 2026
Tailmates is for people who walk their dogs together. These rules keep it a place you want to bring your dog.
They apply to everything you share here: posts, profiles, groups, walks, Voice, and podcasts.
Be kind
- No harassment, threats, or bullying. Not in chat, not on a walk, not in an episode.
- No hate. Nothing that attacks people for who they are.
- Disagree about leashes all you like. Keep it about the idea, not the person.
Keep people safe
- Never share where someone lives, or where and when they walk, unless it is your own walk and you chose to share it.
- No full names of other people in episodes, titles, or notes. First names are fine.
- No one under 18 on a recording. Tailmates is for adults.
- Nothing that puts a dog or a person in danger.
Respect consent
- Record only through Tailmates, where everyone sees the notice and taps OK.
- If someone asks to be taken out of your episode, answer them. Taking it down or editing them out is always the kind choice.
- Don’t record people who aren’t speakers, like passersby or someone on a phone call.
Share only what is yours
- Use only music, sound, and images you own or have written permission to use in a podcast.
- Background music on a walk is someone else’s recording. Pause the episode, or cut it out.
- Don’t pretend to be someone else, or another group, clinic, or business.
Keep it honest
- Walks are real walks. No faked activity.
- No spam, scams, or misleading claims.
- Health talk is welcome. Medical advice isn’t: say “ask your vet,” not “here’s the dose.”
- No ads in episodes except for your own walks and your group.
Keep it legal
- Nothing illegal, and nothing that helps someone break the law.
- No sexual content, graphic violence, or content that glorifies animal cruelty.
If something is wrong
- Use Report on the post, profile, group, or episode. Or write to support@tailmates.io with a link.
- Block anyone, any time. Blocking works both ways: neither of you sees the other’s content.
- We review reports every day. We may remove content, stop an account from publishing or hosting, or close an account. We tell you why, unless the law or someone’s safety says otherwise.
- Copyright complaints follow the steps in Terms section 3A.
