Is it really free?

Yes. Walk tracking, streaks, badges, packs, walk parties, Tailmates Town and your dog’s longevity score cost nothing. You pay only for what you choose. Tailmates+ goes further, with room for the whole household, deeper trends and double points. Tailmates Silver adds Scout, your dog’s assistant. A lab panel through your vet is its own purchase. Tailmates never sells supplements or treatments.

Tailmates Silver, $24.99 a month or $249 a year, includes everything in Tailmates+ and adds Scout, with generous Scout credits each month and top-ups when you want more. The store shows your localized price and renewal terms, and you can cancel anytime.

What’s the difference between an Estimate and a lab-verified score?

The Estimate is free at Level 10: three bars, Genetics, Body Condition, and Activity. A lab-verified score adds the fourth bar once the lab confirms a real blood panel with your vet in the loop: the range narrows, and a bio-age you can track appears. No confirmed bloodwork, no lab-verified score.

Do I need a vet?

Not to start. At Level 10 the Longevity Estimate is yours, free. A veterinarian comes in only to unlock the lab-verified score, and you can invite your own clinic, or one of our partners, from inside the app. See how vets partner with us.

Is my location shared with other people?

No live location is ever shared. Your route scores your walk and feeds the Activity bar, while packmates only see that you’re walking, never where. Sharing a walk card is always your explicit choice after the walk, and the full details are in our Privacy Policy.

What happens to my streak if I miss a day?

You get grace before you get zeroed. A Rainy Day Pass freezes your streak across one missed day, sick kid, storm, late shift. Miss beyond your passes and the streak resets honestly, and the walks, XP, and badges you earned stay yours.

What can Scout do?

Scout is the Tailmates assistant, part of Tailmates Silver. Ask anything and it answers from your dog’s own data: walks, streaks, body condition, and the longevity estimate. It drafts the next step too, a pack walk, a care reminder, a medication on the record, and nothing happens until you confirm.

You can talk instead of type, and your voice is transcribed on your phone, never uploaded. Scout is AI and can make mistakes. It shares educational info, not medical advice, and it never diagnoses.

Is Tailmates on Android?

Yes, Tailmates is on Google Play now, and on the App Store for iPhone. Whichever phone you carry, you can take the first walk today. Get it on Google Play.

Can I delete my data?

Yes, entirely and on your terms. Delete your account any time from in-app settings and your profile goes with it, along with your dogs, walks, and posts, with an export available first if you want one. Records your veterinarian keeps in their own clinical system remain governed by their practice, and the full details are in our Privacy Policy.

Does Tailmates diagnose anything?

No. The longevity score is an educational wellness signal, not a medical device, and never a reason to start or stop a treatment on its own. If your dog seems unwell, call your vet, not an app.
