The journey

Add your dog. Take a walk. Watch the score move.

The same game your whole pack plays every day.

  1. An instant health read from one photo, a confident "just right"

Add your dog from one photo

Add one clear photo and Tailmates reads it for you. Breed, body condition, and age come back as an estimate you confirm or adjust.

Starting from a photo means a real picture from day one instead of a blank form. It is a wellness estimate from a photo, not a vet exam, and you always confirm.

  2. 1.84 mi · 41 min, tracked on your phone and Watch

    Earn points on every walk

Hit start and walk like you already do. Distance, time, and pace track on your phone and Watch, and the walk earns points and keeps your streak alive.

A car ride pauses tracking on its own, and a pocket bump can never end a walk early. Every point you earn comes from a real walk.

  3. "I'll walk too" turns their walk into yours, one tap
Tailmates feed: today's Tail Time prompt, two packmates walking right now with I'll-walk-too buttons, and a streak post

Your pack cheers you out the door

Your walk lands in your pack's feed. Tail Time asks everyone for today's adventure, and a packmate mid-walk shows as walking now. One tap on "I'll walk too" and you head out together.

Packs are built on invites you approve, friends you find by username, and a share link that joins in a tap. A few companions are how a walking habit survives.

  4. Levels and XP, earned on real walks

Level up and climb the board

Compete to be the most active in your pack, making your dog healthier while also earning points. Levels, badges, and podiums rank friends or the whole world, from First Walk to Marathon Month.

The points come from real walks, so the podium means something. It ranks who showed up, day after day.

Watch a longevity estimate you can move

The moment your dog is added, the longevity screen shows a score and a modeled remaining-life range. Play the game: your daily walks contribute to the score, and it updates in real time.

The estimate is built from breed, body condition, and activity, an educational wellness signal, not a diagnosis. Bloodwork adds lab-verified data with your vet in the loop.

  6. Invite your own clinic, a name and an email is all it takes

    6

Bring lab-verified data and your vet in

When you are ready for the full picture, invite your clinic from the app. Tailmates sends a warm one-time introduction, and a confirmed blood panel brings lab-verified data into the estimate. Your free estimate stays free either way.

The panel goes to your vet's review, not straight to an algorithm. We share an introduction only, never a diagnosis, so your vet stays in the loop.

Meet Scout

Ask Scout. It knows your dog.

Scout comes with Tailmates Silver and lives right in the app. Ask anything about your dog, and the answer comes from your dog’s own data, not a generic dog on the internet.

Answers from your dog's own data

Ask how the week is going and Scout answers with your dog's real walks, real streak, and real longevity score. Not a generic dog on the internet, your dog. Talk or type, and your voice is transcribed on your phone, never uploaded.

Why it sticks

Why the game keeps you walking

Every part is pulling for the same thing: one more walk.

Points you can trust

Every point comes from a real walk, checked before it counts. Shortcuts earn nothing, so the leaderboard ranks who actually showed up.

Streaks that survive real life

A growing streak is one more reason to get out the door. A Rainy Day Pass carries it across a missed day, so one storm never erases weeks of showing up.

Walks that move the score

Play the game. Your daily walks contribute to your longevity score and are updated in real time.

A pack at your back

When a packmate heads out, you know, and one tap sends you out together. A few companions are the surest way a walking habit survives.

Inside the longevity score

From a free Estimate to a lab-verified read

A glass box, not a black box. Every bar shows its drivers, and the clinical read always belongs to your veterinarian.

Four owner bars, one honest lock

The Estimate is free and instant: three bars, Genetics, Body Condition, and Activity, unlock the moment you add your dog, with the Bloodwork bar shown locked. It needs no appointment, no needles, and no paywall.

The lab-verified score adds the fourth bar. The lab confirms a real blood panel with your vet in the loop, and only then does Bloodwork unlock, the range narrow, and a trackable bio-age appear. No confirmed bloodwork, no lab-verified score.

How much of the picture we have

Tailmates is built for everyday wellness, and your vet leads the medicine. The Longevity Estimate is an educational wellness signal, not a diagnosis, and Tailmates sells no supplements and promises no outcomes. The lab-verified score is generated only after the lab confirms the blood values within an established veterinarian-client-patient relationship, with your vet in the loop.

The research

And then it becomes something bigger.

One dog’s walks and one confirmed blood panel make one dog’s picture. Enough of them, from owners who choose to share, is what could make the bigger question answerable at all. Sharing is opt-in and always your call, and the app works the same either way.

Common questions

Good questions, honest answers

Is it really free?

Yes. The app, the daily walking game, and your dog’s longevity score are free, with no consumer paywall, ever. The one thing that ever costs money is optional bloodwork with your vet, never a subscription to see your own dog’s score.

Tailmates+ goes deeper for $4.99/mo or $39.99/yr: health trends over time, room for the whole household, double points on every walk, and $10 off every wellness panel. Tailmates Silver, $25/mo or $249/yr, includes everything in Plus and adds Scout, with generous credits included and top-ups when you want more. The core app stays free either way, and you can cancel anytime.

What’s the difference between an Estimate and a lab-verified score?

The Estimate is free and instant: three bars, Genetics, Body Condition, and Activity, the moment you add your dog. A lab-verified score adds the fourth bar once the lab confirms a real blood panel with your vet in the loop: the range narrows, and a bio-age you can track appears. No confirmed bloodwork, no lab-verified score.

Do I need a vet?

Not to start: the Longevity Estimate is yours the moment you add your dog. A veterinarian comes in only to unlock the lab-verified score, and you can invite your own clinic, or one of our partners, from inside the app. See how vets partner with us.

Is my location shared with other people?

No live location is ever shared. Your route scores your walk and feeds the Activity bar, while packmates only see that you’re walking, never where. Sharing a walk card is always your explicit choice after the walk, and the full details are in our Privacy Policy.

What happens to my streak if I miss a day?

You get grace before you get zeroed. A Rainy Day Pass freezes your streak across one missed day, sick kid, storm, late shift. Miss beyond your passes and the streak resets honestly, and the walks, XP, and badges you earned stay yours.

What can Scout do?

Scout is the Tailmates assistant, part of Tailmates Silver. Ask anything and it answers from your dog’s own data: walks, streaks, body condition, and the longevity estimate. It drafts the next step too, a pack walk, a care reminder, a medication on the record, and nothing happens until you confirm.

You can talk instead of type, and your voice is transcribed on your phone, never uploaded. Scout is AI and can make mistakes. It shares educational info, not medical advice, and it never diagnoses.

Is Tailmates on Android?

Yes, Tailmates is on Google Play now, and on the App Store for iPhone. Whichever phone you carry, you can take the first walk today. Get it on Google Play.

Can I delete my data?

Yes, entirely and on your terms. Delete your account any time from in-app settings and your profile goes with it, along with your dogs, walks, and posts, with an export available first if you want one. Records your veterinarian keeps in their own clinical system remain governed by their practice, and the full details are in our Privacy Policy.

Does Tailmates diagnose anything?

No. The longevity score is an educational wellness signal, not a medical device, and never a reason to start or stop a treatment on its own. If your dog seems unwell, call your vet, not an app.
