The lab-verified score is built on a licensed veterinarian's review and attestation of the panel: you attest the panel values match the source lab report and you confirm an established veterinarian-client-patient relationship. That attestation is enforced in the database: no app activity, no payment, and no one at Tailmates can compute a lab-verified score without it. The lab validates the data, Tailmates computes the analysis, and you attest only for patients within your own relationship.

Your attestation covers your read of the panel: that the panel values match the source lab report (including your corrections) and that a VCPR exists. You are attesting to the panel, not endorsing or underwriting Tailmates' longevity analysis, which is a separate, clearly labeled, non-diagnostic wellness measure computed entirely by Tailmates. It is always shown to owners as a healthy-years range rather than a single date, and owners are told throughout that diagnosis and treatment decisions belong to their veterinarian.

A few minutes for a clean panel. The values arrive extracted and laid out next to the source lab report; you scan them, tap to correct anything the parser got wrong, tick the attestation and VCPR confirmations, and submit. A messy scan with several corrections takes longer, and that clinical judgment is exactly what makes the lab-verified score worth something.

Every extracted value is editable in the review table, with low-confidence extractions flagged up front. When you correct a value, your attested value overrides the automated extraction everywhere: in the score computation, in the record, and in what the owner sees. Corrections are recorded alongside your attestation, and you can reopen an attested panel later, apply new corrections, and re-attest; the score re-computes from your updated read.

After you attest the panel, the owner's score gains a lab-verified badge and a credit line, “Panel reviewed by Dr. {you} · Longevity analysis by Tailmates”, backed by your review of the panel. They see four plain-English bars, genetics, body condition, activity, and bloodwork, a healthy-years range (always a range, never a single date), a bio-age delta they can track over time, and any notes or recommendations you added. Non-diagnostic labeling runs throughout, and owners are consistently pointed back to their vet for anything clinical.

You bill the owner directly for the visit, draw, and lab at your own rates, off-platform, and that clinical billing stays entirely yours. Separately, for reviewing the panel, Tailmates pays a flat, fixed fee that's the same for every panel. What Tailmates brings you is the new appointment.

Nothing, and no. Joining is free, with no seat fee and no minimum volume, and the optional practice-analytics tier stays fully optional: participation and panel review are always open to you. You run the draw and panel with your existing lab workflow (a standard chemistry panel and CBC report the markers the score reads), and your own visit and draw billing stays entirely yours.
